Today at 2am GMT, all EU shard will go offline for patch implementation and server verifications.
Quoting the original post by Amary on the Rift Community forums:
The EU shards will be coming down for the 1.7 update at 2:00am GMT, 02/2/12. The estimated downtime is ** 2 hours ** but we'll try to keep it much shorter than that!
Patch notes will be updated and have been posted in English here on the forums; they may be slightly delayed as translation wraps up for French and German this evening.
We already have the patch notes posted, as well as previews of the content:
