Hi, I downloaded the Sync program, and installed it, ran Rift, and I could not get it to detect my character at all when I logged in. I figured this was a problem with being a free user, so I paid to upgrade to the premium service, and still I can't sync my characters.
Also when it says patching, it gets to about 60k, then stops for several minutes, is it perhaps a problem with the sync program not updating correctly?

Hi LunaEclipse73,
Really sorry for this issue that has in fact nothing to do with your account status.
1/ Do you have a firewall or internet security software? If yes, please make sure you do not block outgoing connection for Magelo Sync.
2/ To your knowledge, do you happen to use a Proxy? You can check this in your computer settings: control panel > Internet options > Connections tab > Lan settings button > Proxy server.
Thanks for keeping us posted.

I am running Windows 7 Firewall only and had enabled Magelo Sync to communicate through the firewall, that is the first thing I thought of. To answer your second question, no my internet connection does not use a proxy server.
Other steps I have taken is to uninstall Magelo completely from my computer. Re-download Magelo Sync and re-installed it but the problem persists.

Looks like I solved my problem.
After thinking back to my Java programming days, I remembered that sometimes when I designed applications and a new JRE was released, running the application caused problems because the API was updated so the application either behaved differently, or in worse case scenario it would not work at all.
So I decided to go through the site and find the information about the required JRE, I found a link to the download page, which was release 6 update 31. I had installed on my system release 7 update 3, so I uninstalled my JRE and downloaded the release 6 update 31 version and installed it, now Magelo works fine, no errors.
You might want to pass on to the developers of Magelo Sync that it looks like it might not be compatible with Java 7.
Thanks for your help.
