so i have a premium membership i pay for 1 year @ a time and i have not been able to use magelo sync for over 2 months now.. every time i load it it says it does not detect any character... i have tried deleting magelo sync and reinstalling it, and it still isnt working any suggestions please?

If it's not detecting a character it's an invalid EQ session.
Are you playing EQ Live? Magelo isn't supported for Test or Beta, nor any homebrew versions of EQ.
If you're on a valid EverQuest game, which server?

I'm having the same issue, sync just says "Magelo sync is trying to detect your currently logged character, please wait" It shows what zone i'm in and the target but the character sync option doesn't appear. I'm on Cazic-Thule

It's so sporadic I'm about done with paying for this service. More often than not for most of the year I can't synch. The last run now has been a month for my Main, and tonight it only recognized an alt acct. Re-ran synch and now it doesn't even see the alt acct.
Getting to synch every other month at best is not what we pay for.

I think we need a December magelo sync update. I get the message that the EQ client has been updated and magelo sync needs to get a patch.
Hope its coming soon, I know this service has been around for like 20 years, I hope the owner is still motivated!

Expansion releases tend to be a bit longer than a "patch". New content, new levels, new AAs all need to be accounted for - not to mention every expansion launch they do 10-20 quick "stealth" patches within the first 2-3 weeks of the release (which all break Magelo sync). That said, with a new expansion launch Jelan usually gets all the new stuff up and running midish month along with holiday discount opportunities for subscriptions. Given the scope and the considerations, definitely a reasonable timeframe IMO.
