You have seen the skelf, both in battle in the forests and as guards here in the Well. Skelf are not evil, but very impressionable. They form a pact with the most powerful creature they can find shortly after spawning. A new clutch is hatching now, deep in the caves under the Well. Witness their hatching and protect them from evil. Perhaps say a prayer to Ranri over the last skelf to hatch, who is always fated to die. Perhaps a being such as yourself will change its fortune?

My motives were a bit self-serving, Ascended. I know we Atragarians cannot inspire a pact in our current state. My hope was that your magnificence would sway that clutch from the Akvan. And save a generation from the wrath you will visit upon the deep. I did not expect you to free the last of the clutch from the prison of its shell. The last has never survived. Never been allowed by its clutchmates to survive. This is unprecedented. I hope it bodes well for our seas and your world.
