Avarice of the Golden Maw

I don't know if there is a better way to get to the bottom of Orphiel's Spire where you need to assemble Orphiel's twisted machine. What I did was work my way to the lowest level, then jumped to the bottom as I could not find a "machine" to take me there or stairs that lean further down. I just love Trion's instructions. Complete the quest Power of Greed in the Nadir Plaza. Seriously, don't give us any real instructions. Complete the quest. Ya think?!? So, enter the Lair of the Extinction of Power at the Bottom of the Tower. Done. Complete the quest Power of Greed in the Nadir Plaza, how? Power of Greed says, Use Orphiel's Twisted Machine to turn Extinction of Power Zealots on each other 0/7. The sad part is, down here, I'm not finding any Power Zealots to use it on. Going back up, none there either. I'd say glitched, but a glitch indicates something isn't working, not that something was missing. I gotta believe I'm missing a step (not sure how with such wonderful instructions) because others have completed this before me. There are mobs with red names and green names here. There are Guild Enforcers, Dread Percussionists, Glorious Legionnaires, then all the named mobs in green, Kaspar Massi, Brother Damon, Anthousa Mona, Dacia ultan, and Asha Catari. But no, Power Zealots. It would be nice if someone who was able to complete this quest were to post how they found the Zealots. Well, how's this for a "well thought out descriptive" quest. The "Power Zealots ARE the green named mobs, you use the machine on them and they turn red. Oh, and the laughable description that you use the machine on them to have them turn on each other. OMFG, NO, they turn RED to you and they FIGHT YOU. I laughably used it on Asha, and stood back to watch the fun. Quickly realized she was fighing my pet NOT the other "Zealots". Thanks Trion for yet another well informed quest. Ok, second batch, I hit Anthousa Mona and she started fighting Dacia Ultan standing next to her. What? Asha turned to fight me, but Anthousa for one of the others? Oh, after he killed Dacia, he stayed red, not sure if I'm now suppose to fight him or not. But, I'm at 2/7 now. Let's see if number three fights me or the other green mob standing next to him. Well, Brother Damon attacked Kaspar Massi. Then attacked me. About that time I noticed Anthousa Mona has turned green once again. Unfortunately, I'm at 3/7 he's the only one left and no one to have him fight. Great news, this is set up like Meridian in that it has the three sections. Moving to Catari Command Center there are more green mobs. If there isn't enough here, I'm thinking going the other way will lend more green mobs. Ok, Kira Thanos turned green again, I used the machine on her and she attacked Glorious Legionnaire. (Green mob turned red mob fighting red mob). At the end of that fight, however, Kira won and no point towards completion. She immediately started fighting the other red mob, this time Kira lost and I got a completion. So, they don't have to fight each other. As long as you turn a green mob red, and then they die, either by your hand or someone else's. Yes, very well description on the quest Trion. Well done. (Trion, you do read the heavy sarcasm there, right?) One nice thing about this quest, it's acting like a dungeon in that when you kill the mobs they don't respawn. At least none of them have yet on me. The next step, Destroy the Extinction of Power, is out in the courtyard of Meridian. Oh, and he's big, ugly, and level ?? Planar. Let's see how this fairs. Not difficult. Thanks Trion, finally giving us a good description of what was happening. Message popped up to bring her to the pulsating area to weaken her. Then warned when she was about to cast a strong aoe. With those warnings, it was a piece of cake. I do have to laugh though, this place IS Meridian. Even down to the porticum. And you can look out the doorway and see the yard beyond, just can't walk through as there's a force field blocking your way. Take care when you go through the exit, it takes you back to the Nightmare of Greed, where the mobs there have respawned and will be attacking you when your screen comes up. Make sure you have full health before exiting. Since that is the end of the quest, next step takes you to Kondraum at Ghar Station, if your soul recall isn't on cd, I'd just SR without going through the exit. I didn't and when I got to the machine to take me "up" I now need to fight my way back up the ramps to the exit. More xp, but at this point, is it worth it? No, I'm going to use my Patron's Fast Pass here.
