Long ago, when I made my decision to leave the Abyssal, it was because I realized just in time how terrible it felt to lose control of myself, to allow another's will to dominate my own. I had long believed myself worthless, and that I was a fitting sacrifice for power, but when I got to that moment of complete sacrifice, I realized how much I was truly giving up. This experience was torture. Being trapped inside myself, only able to observe what I was being forced to do, never knowing if I would ever be in control again. I will never allow myself to be a puppet again.
